It feels really unbelievable and weird. I grew up in Cupertino. In general, I have a very different association with Cupertino other than most of my friends who also grew up in the city. My mother’s family is deeply rooted in the Cupertino history. Life was always connected to technology in Silicon Valley. Whether it was Apple, HP, Google/Yahoo, IBM, Adobe, etc. My uncle had math class with Steve Wozniak in high school. Steve Jobs went to the same high school as my mother and uncle but many years later. Apple computers were in every classroom in school. I remember playing Oregon Trail and Super Munchers on the small mac computers.. I learned how to type with a mac. My father has friends that work at Apple, an exboyfriend and his friend worked at Apple headquarters during the summer after I graduated from high school, I taught my friend how to drive in the Apple Infinite Loop parking lot, an older friend from high school ran into Steve Jobs at Shoreline Century theatres once, the list goes on.
I’ve always kind of thought he was invincible and nothing would ever happen. But wow. Wednesday has been kind of crazy.
